33rd FRUCT conference: The 1st IMCC workshop

The 1st Workshop on Investigating and mitigating climate changes (IMCC) will be held on the main days of the 33rd FRUCT conference on May 25, 2023. The workshop will be held as a mix of onsite and online participation, i.e., distant participation is allowed. We welcome you to submit your papers.

Call for papers, posters and demos

Our climate system is evolving about ten times faster today than any change recorded in the past 65 million years. Therefore, investigating and modeling the climate system and its interactions with society is of paramount importance. In fact, it would allow researchers to provide foresights and quantitative analysis of our future planet and society, as a basis to stimulate sustainable growth, protect the environment and develop science-driven adaptation and mitigation policies. Investigation on climate changes is then one of the research areas with the fastest growth of these recent years. It is a research field where oceanographers, physicists, biologists and engineers cooperate to provide reliable, rigorous, and timely scientific results. The purpose of this workshop is to promote disruptive research works on this topic with papers, posters or demos.

The topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

  • sea-level rise and coastal impacts
  • transport and weathering of oil spills
  • climate change adaptation and resilience
  • nature-based solutions for climate change mitigation
  • environmental disaster prevention and monitoring
  • salt-wedge intrusion
  • sea ice melting
  • extreme events
  • ocean acidification
  • marine heatwaves prediction and effects

The event is being run alongside the 33rd FRUCT an interdisciplinary conference. The participants to the workshop will have access to all the sessions of the FRUCT conference.

For your submissions please use the paper templates MS Word and LaTeX.
